Are You an Undiscovered Genius?

No one would dispute that Einstein and Picasso are geniuses. Even those who aren’t interested in physics or modern art would say so.
In the movie Chariots of Fire, on the night before the English Olympic Team of 1924 is to depart for France, a dinner is held. The Dean of Cambridge University addresses the young athletes and says, essentially, “Life is short. Do that to which you are most likely to attain greatness.”
Dan Sullivan, founder of The Strategic Coach, worked for the USO during the Korean War. One day, a singer came to entertain the troops. Dan said the first thing you noticed about Frank Sinatra was that he didn’t move pianos, he sang. Dan asks attendees of his workshops, “How much time do we spend singing our song to our audience?”
In my work, I aim to do only those things that only I can do. Those also happen to be the things that I do best and love doing.
