Baloney!

“It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.”

Mark Twain

How would you like to make five bucks… and change your belief about what is possible for you? Consider this an experiment to prove a simple point.

It has to do with a sandwich, or, more accurately, with what’s inside the sandwich. Ask a friend, “Do they sell baloney at the grocery store?”

You friend will look at you a little strangely and say, “Yes…?”

You say, “I’ll bet you five bucks they don’t.”

Now, whether your friend takes you up on the bet or not is irrelevant, because you have just proved the experiment to be a resounding success. That’s because no matter how many people you ask, they will answer yes. And they will be wrong. They don’t sell baloney at the grocery store, or anywhere else. They sell bologna.

Baloney doesn’t exist anywhere, except in the sandwich between our ears. It is a false belief, as proven above. This is a harmless false belief… unless you eat the bologna.

What other false beliefs do we have that are in fact harmful to our progress? What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail? You can do it.

And that’s no baloney!
