Forgiveness

“Never forget the three powerful resources you always have available to you:
love, prayer, and forgiveness.”

H. Jackson Brown

Sometimes I get angry, more than I would like to be, which is not at all. And usually my anger is directed at someone else, rather than at something else.

Often this is because I am offended by what someone close to me has said or done. And sometimes it is because of what they haven’t said or done. When I think of how they have wronged me, I just get more upset.

To break out of that cycle, I quiet myself by meditating or focusing on my breathing for a while. And often, I see my part in what has transpired.

And I realize that the only real way to go from angry back to happy is to forgive, myself and others. And when I do, I return to peace.
